Kokubunji International Preschool: Spring at the Shrine, Counting, and Obstacle Courses

This week, we felt the early effects of spring, with warmer temperatures, beautiful sunshine, and gorgeous plum blossoms. So, we decided to play at the shrine, taking advantage of the warm weather and getting some good exercise. We love to run in the open field, especially when the teachers run with us. ⛩️‍♀️

During our learning time, we started to do counting. Our teacher would count on her fingers, showing us 1 through 10. Then, she would show us the cards, which go all the way up to 10,000! Show far, we count up to 20, but we’ll go up more little by little. We enjoy counting, especially when we count animals, bugs, or flowers during story time. ☝️✌️️

Later in the week, we weren’t able to go outside, but our teachers know just how to entertain us. They built a little obstacle course, turning one of the small tables into a slide, and using our nap mats as tunnels for us to crawl through. We learned to take turns, and go one way, like in a circle, going down the slide, through the tunnel, and then back to the slide to do it all over again. If we have rainy days, we can’t wait to have our obstacle course again! ️‍♀️
