Kokubunji International Preschool: Fun in the Sandbox, Learning about Vegetables, and Graduation

This week, we decided to take advantage of the early warmth of spring, and play in our backyard sandbox. We like to mold the sand into ice cream for our cones, walls for castles, filling our buckets with sand until they overflow, or pretending to make cakes. It’s more fun when the sand is a little bit wet as it’s easier to mold, especially with the little sea creatures so we can see their design in the sand. 🦀🐡🐢🏖️🪣

During Beat Time, we reviewed about vegetables like, eggplants, cucumbers, onions, carrots, and cabbages. Our teachers mentioned to us that tomatoes and pumpkins, although always put into the vegetable family, are actually fruits because they both have seeds! And just like fruit, talking about vegetables makes us hungry, which is great that we have lunch time right after our learning time. 🍆🥒🧅🥕🥬

Lastly, we practiced for graduation as the big event is only a week away! We sang our graduation song throughout the week, and then Friday, we had a full rehearsal with the kindergartners and kindergartners and preschoolers from the Tachikawa school. We can’t believe that we will be K1 kindergartners in April! It feels like only yesterday since we started our second year as preschoolers. But the fun only increases from here, so, it is time for us to go on a new adventure, all while learning new things about English. 🎓🧑‍🎓👨‍🎓📕📚📝
